Personal: My wife, Stephanie, and I have been Cobb County residents for 9 years and have been Marietta citizens since our wedding 7 years ago. I am an Atlanta native, grew up in Jonesboro and attended Lovejoy High School. I graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in polymer chemistry and Georgia State with a master’s degree in education. Stephanie and I met while at Georgia Tech and she currently works as a Supply Chain Manager for The Home Depot at the Store Support Center in Smyrna. We love living in the heart of Marietta. Some of our favorite Marietta things to do are walking to the Square for the frequent festivals and events, shopping at the Marietta Square Farmer's Market, eating out at Marietta's many great restaurants, and just enjoying a quiet evening at home with friends overlooking Kennesaw Mountain from our back porch.
Experience: I taught high school science for 7 years in the magnet program at Wheeler High School. At Wheeler, I developed the state-approved curriculum for a course in robotics and spent a significant portion of my extra-curricular time coaching Wheeler’s award-winning robotics team, The CircuitRunners. The robotics coaching experience was like having a second full-time job, but the opportunity to connect students with science and engineering in a new and exciting way was worth every minute. This past year, I have had the exciting opportunity to train teachers for a hands-on, science education company. When describing why I love my current job, I am often heard to say, “I get paid to play with science teachers.”
